Advanced Tutu Course Level 2: Ombre-Dyed Classical, Bell, or Romantic Tutu
Course Description: For this course, you will attend the Dyeing to Dye Level One class before advanced tutu class, first cutting out your top one to three layer sections, depending on how many of these you want to dye. You will NOT be dyeing the entire tutu, just your top layers - layers one, two, and/or three, for a classical tutu, counting from the top down.
Once cut, you will dye the sections, using any of several ombre-dye techniques - horizontal ombré, vertical ombré, and tip-dyeing. Other dye options will include tie-dyeing, shaped designs dyeing, and squirt gun dyeing. Your focus in the Dyeing to Dye Level One class will be on your specific tutu design, rather than other dye techniques taught in the class. Be sure to choose your tutu class days to run AFTER a scheduled Dyeing to Dye class.
You do not need to register for the Dye class separately from this class. Be careful not to register for another class scheduled at the same time as the dye class that runs right before your tutu class.
Once you finish the dyeing, we will hang your pieces to dry. While the dye is setting and drying, you will draft your basque pattern, and cut and sew the basque and panty in the tutu class. Once dry, your dyed layers will be delivered to you at the tutu class, ready for you to ruffle and sew your tutu into a gorgeous, original design.
Prerequisites: Classical or Romantic Performance Tutu Level One (depending on which tutu design you choose), or email detailed pictures of your work and a note detailing your experience to [email protected] to demonstrate proficiency.
