Advanced Tutu Course Level 3: Stylized Firebird Tutu

Course Description: This beautiful Firebird tutu design by Claudia Folts is a showstopper. It is made of 21 rows of soft tulles and organzas - enhanced sparkle tulle, regular tulle and glimmer tulle. It is done in shades of red, wine, orange and fuchsia, and is cut very short in the front and longer in the back. Each row is roll-hemmed. The back of the tutu is tacked in a special way to give it a fiery finish.

Prerequisites: Any Level Two tutu course, or you can email us detailed pictures of your work and a note detailing your experience to demonstrate proficiency. 

This design can work well for other “bird” roles, too. For example, the Firebird design in white and yellow makes an adorable duck in “Peter and the Wolf.” 

This class focuses on design and fine details as well as the technical sewing aspects. It is a great time to hone the techniques you have learned in other classes, while making something extraordinary.

The basque fabric is a brocade. What you receive is dictated by what brocade is available. If you need to add another 1.5 yards of this brocade in order to make a matching bodice when you get home, please be sure to click on that choice before checking out.
