Classical Performance Tutu Course Level 2
Course Description: Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, Classical Performance Tutu Level Two offers two options to fit your needs - working with tutu net only (Single Color) OR working with both tutu net and enhanced sparkle tulle (Blended Color). It also offers the option to learn how to work with our Removable Lower Tutu Panty, an incredible innovation, designed by Claudia Folts, allowing you to easily remove the lower panty for cleaning and replacement when needed.Â
This seminar teaches it all, expanding on the knowledge learned in Level One of this course, including figuring how much fabric you will need, how to mathematically figure amounts needed for different rows when using different colors, cutting the layers, scalloping vs. dagging, panty construction and specific adjustments for a better fit - dart-tapering on the panty to create cupping underneath the rear end. We will be expanding on basque patterning with customizable tweaks, various ruffling techniques, tricks for sewing the net on the panty, and much, much more. We will teach both time-honored techniques and many of our newest ideas and innovations, born from the Tutu.Com Shop - the only shop in the country that makes tutus every, single day.
Learn everything you need to know to make your own beautiful, professional, performance-ready Classical Tutus. You will continue to work on several ruffling techniques, including Tutu.Comâs signature double-hand pleating method. As part of this class, you will receive âThe Classical Tutu Bookâ by Claudia Folts, her 57-step âCheat Sheetâ to help you remember the steps in order when you get home, plus her step-by-step, basque-patterning instructions, complete with full-color photographs and an easy-to-use math worksheet, designed by Elizabeth Ekey, of Tutu Theatre, one of our tutu teachers, and introduction to a great measurement calculator designed by former TutuSchool student, Emily Raynor. You will also receive our new, Basque Patterning Tweaks Worksheet and our step-by-step instructions for our signature pleating method.
If you would like to continue your tutu training with detailed finish work, you will also want to sign up for Classical Tutu Finishing Techniques â The Art of Steaming/Hooping/Tacking. We do touch on these techniques in the Classical Performance Tutu class, but there simply is not enough time to go in-depth with these very valuable finishing techniques.
Prerequisites: Classical Performance Tutu Course Level 1, or you can email [email protected] detailed pictures of your work and a note detailing your experience to demonstrate proficiency.
Course Length: 3 days. Also available as a Tutu Marathon course.  See Your Cityâs Seminar Online Calendar to Plan Your Schedule.
Payments: Tutu.com Courses are available for those attending TutuSchool. Cost for this course INCLUDES the class, the teacher, and all fabrics and notions. Payments are non-refundable, however a TutuSchools credit, less 10%, will be granted for use within one year at any of our seminar locations when requested more than 30 days in advance of your seminar. If you must drop out within 30 days of the class date, no credit will be issued. Pay in monthly installments with ShopPay or PayPal Credit.
