Leotard Course Level 1: Basic - Camisole Style
Course Description: In Basic Leotard Class, you will learn everything you need to know to start on your journey through the mysteries of stretch fabrics. You will make a basic, single-color, camisole leotard while mastering the many specialized techniques used to sew stretch fabrics. You will learn about color-blocking possibilities, which you can then practice while continuing your leotard journey at home.
Be sure to pay attention to the different elastics and needles used in this class – it is very important to use the correct equipment in order to achieve the very best results. You will learn about several different finishing techniques, and will become proficient and confident with sergers.
Prerequisites: Clothes or costume making experience; sewing-machine and hand-sewing skills. This course is not appropriate for those who do not yet know how to sew. If you are new to dance costuming, Level One courses are a great place to start!
