Dance Dresses Course Level 2: Empire Line Ballet Dress
Course Description: So easy, so comfortable and so gorgeous! You'll learn to craft this Empire-line Dress which features a great fit, beautiful back, and is very slimming. The skirt is bias-cut to drape perfectly. The bodice is an 8-piece cropped top style. The skirt can be cut as two half-circle layers or one full-circle layer. We have added several new twists to this project: Skirt is reversible, and both the skirt and under-leotard button in to the bodice, making them easily removable for cleaning and for changing sizes/lengths for different dancers.
Fabric Choice Tips:
- Excellent Quality Japanese Polyester Chiffon, a strong, easy to care for fabric, with excellent flow.
- 8mm Silk Georgette, the most delicate fabric, which has the best flow and movement, but is more expensive, must be hand-washed in cold water or dry cleaned and can easily get âpicksâ and âruns.â
Prerequisites: This is a Level 2 class, so you will need to have at least an intermediate level of sewing expertise. IF working with silk, be prepared for a higher level of difficulty.
Course Length: 2 full days. See Your Cityâs Seminar Online Calendar to Plan Your Schedule.
Payments: Tutu.com Courses are available for those attending TutuSchool. Cost for this course INCLUDES the class, the teacher, and all fabrics and notions. Payments are non-refundable, however a TutuSchools credit, less 10%, will be granted for use within one year at any of our seminar locations when requested more than 30 days in advance of your seminar.
